Round The Outside Winery Tour (The Kuitpo Collective)

Take a tour in the Adelaide Hills, bordering on the McLaren Vale Winery region. With the Kuitpo Forrest as a back drop this tour is a must if you want to explore something different.

Longview Wines

Longview is a stunning, family-owned Adelaide Hills single vineyard located just outside the historic township of Macclesfield. Set on undulating slopes, it has quickly established itself as one of the most awarded vineyards in the region since its first vintage in 2001.

Karrawatta Wines

Karrawatta wines are produced from three contrasting and highly sought after vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek. All vines are detail hand-pruned and the fruit selectively picked to nurture the wines from vineyard to glass.

Lazy Ballerina*

Lunch time at Lazy Ballerina where Cheese Platters and Pizzas are on the menu! A family run institution with great wine and an amazing garden for you to enjoy. The word "lazy" in the name is exactly how you'll spend your time here. Shady on a hot day, and fires when it’s cold.

K1 by Geoff Hardy

Get ready to be taken to some amazing scenery at K1 by Geoff Hardy. The beautifully situated K1 cellar door overlooks the lake and vineyard and has been recognised as one of Australia's Top 10 Cellar Door Experiences by leading wine industry publication, Wine Business Magazine.


Yangarra’s intimate cellar door is set among the beautiful surrounds of the single-vineyard estate where bush-vine Grenache is the keystone variety. It provides the perfect environment for an intimate and engaging wine tasting experience.

Coates Winery*

Coates Wines blend the best in Australian and European winemaking styles, to bridge the gap between the fruit-driven Australian style and the savoury, complex wines of Old World Europe. Many different and interesting grape varieties can be tasted here.

The “Big Reds” Winery Tour

McLaren Vales’ thin soils, limited water and warm summers harness Shiraz’s natural vigor and produce intense flavored fruit, and wine with a deep purple color that can last decades in the bottle.

This tour showcases some of the areas best “Big Reds”. 


This is the first stop, at the entrance to McLaren Vale. Shingleback's tasting room is housed in what was the original barn of Aldersey Farm built in the late 1800's and lovingly restored in 2003. The Davey brothers have taken a modern, but minimalist, approach to crafting their wines. Small batch, open fermentation, gentle handling, pressing and maturation result in balanced, food friendly wines, expressive of their terroir and variety. The D Block and Davey range are the winery’s flagship red labels.

Kay Brothers Vineyard

Heading up to the hill to Seaview Road, established in 1890 and the oldest winery in McLaren Vale still in founding family hands. All of Kay Brothers red wines are prepared in the original open fermenters and are pressed using our Celestin Coq and Cie hydraulic basket press first used for the 1928 vintage. The Hillside and Basket Press Shiraz are a must taste here. Also take time to take in the panoramic view.

Shottesbrooke Winery

Our 3rd stop is renowned for producing some of Australia’s best Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and has regularly been awarded high individual wine scores, and also prestigious 5 star ‘outstanding’ classifications in the annual Australian Wine Companion written by James Halliday. Here there are 12 amazing reds on their tasting menu.


Time for lunch. Friendly, smiling faces and a waft of freshly cooked wood oven pizza greet you as you walk in the door. The menu boasts antipasta and pizzas made with homemade ingredients and the  welcoming nature that the Mitolo family brings really shows in their food and develops a memorable experience. Wines from V. Mitolo & Son are on pour to match, or available to buy at cellar-door prices.

Woodstock Winery

Our final destination and newly renovated. The use of the historic Jarrah showcaseses a space that truly reflects the quality of and ethos behind Woodstock wines. WOODSTOCK reds are all about smooth tannins and purity of fruit., The Stocks Shiraz being their signature wine.

If time permits, we may also visit Paxton Wines.

Piccadilly Valley Tour

The Piccadilly Valley is a sub-region of the Adelaide Hills and is renowned for the quality of its cooler-climate wines.

Tapanappa Winery

Owned and operated by the Croser Family of the Piccadilly Valley, the tree lined entrance opens up to an amazing view of their vineyards and stylish cellar door.

Greenhill Wines

Drs Paul and Penny Henschke, who have raised their family there, wish to share their love of good food and wine in an exquisitely renovated 1880’s settlers’ cottage set amongst vines with a stunning panoramic view of the picturesque Piccadilly Valley and Mt Bonython.

Uraidla Hotel*

First licensed in 1867, the newly renovated Uraidla Hotel has been restored and designed to embody the traditional spirit on the Australian Hotel. It sources its produce from its own vegetable garden, winning the AHA Environmental and Energy Efficiency Practice South Australian award in 2019. It also brews its own beer, with many others on tap.

Lost in the Forest*

Wood oven pizzas and wine lounge using Locavore ingredients, Basket Range wines, in a heritage location in the Adelaide Hills and 2019 National Award Winner : Best Pizza Restaurant.

Ashton Hills Vineyard

A 3 hectare, dry-grown vineyard that lies in the Piccadilly Valley on a ridge just below the summit of Mt Lofty. Founded in 1982 it has since built a reputation as one of Australia’s finest proponents of pinot noir and cool climate whites. Sit back on the deck and enjoy the rolling hills view.

Deviation Road

Deviation Road’s winery and cellar door are ideally located in the picturesque Adelaide Hills near Stirling. The Deviation Road experience combines a spectacular garden setting surrounded by vineyard and heritage listed bush land and is best represented by its signature Australian sparkling wine, the Loftia Vintage Brut.

Langhorne Creek Winery Tour

Langhorne Creek is arguably one of the most underated wine regions in Australia. It’s cooler climate than McLaren Vale or the Barossa and the deep, alluvial sandy loams in the soil produce some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon and full bodied Shiraz and Malbec in the country.

Longview Vineyard

Heading out of Adelaide and through the Hills, this is our first destination, just out of Macclesfield. Their recently built tasting room has been constructed featuring recycled materials found around the Macclesfield area. Ancient soils, healthy rainfall, undulating slopes, gentle sun, warm days and cool nights, are an essential part of this unique vineyard's 'terroir' producing pristine sparkling, crisp whites and savoury reds.

Fabal Wines

Just out of Strathalbyn, this is our second destination with their signature label Vineyard Road. Here you can savor delicate sparkling wine through to their magnificent limited release Belvidere Estate Shiraz. Here also is the first South Australian retail outlet for Vasse Virgin, luxury natural olive oil based body products where you can test and try each of the products before choosing your purchases.

Angas Plains Estate

Just on the outskirts of Langhorne Creek is where we're off to next. Large impressive wooden doors make for an intriguing entrance to the warm and welcoming Wine Tasting area set among the vines with panoramic views across the vineyard to the distant hills. Delicious rustic meals and platters are available with live music 3rd Sunday of the month.

Bremerton Wines

For the past 11 years, this place has been awarded the James Halliday 5 star rated winery which ranks it in the top 5% of all Australian Wineries. The Cellar Door is in the restored 1988 barn where up to 18 wines can be in the range. Local produce and their delicious regionally inspired luncheon platters and tasty gourmet pizzas make this an ideal luncheon stop.

Lake Breeze

This winery has been owned by the Follett family since 1890 and uses a unique flooding system from the Bremer River to irrigate the vines to see them through the drier summer months. A rustic limestone shed built in the early 1930’s has become home to Lake Breeze wines when it first opened in 1991.  Further recent renovations take advantage of the stunning views over the vineyard and provide a contemporary eating and function space. The range of Lake Breeze wines have enjoyed enormous success over the past 25 years and have been recognised with 53 trophies, over 170 gold medals and a plethora of other awards.

The Winehouse

This is our final stop, and the name says it all! This house of wine celebrates a fantastic tasting experience, featuring five award winning boutique Langhorne Creek labels, from Ben Potts Wines, Gipsie Jack, Kimbolton, the legendary John Glaetzer’s John’s Blend and Heartland by Ben Glaetzer. If that’s not enough, we are also home to Langhorne Creek’s first craft beer label, Meechi Brewing Company. The Winehouse is a quirky eclectic mix of old and new in a relaxed tranquil setting.

Goodiesons Brewery

Set in a gorgeous location on the flat of the valley at the back of McLaren Vale, Goodieson’s cellar door is a relaxed space with a serene terrace that looks out past the tree-lined creek, over vineyards and across the valley to the southern Mt Lofty Ranges. Here you can see the brewery in action and taste handcrafted award winning beer. (21 varieties at different times of the year).

Shifty Lizard

Located in the picturesque town of Willunga SA and a stones throw away from the beautiful McLaren Vale. Now one of Adelaide's exciting up and coming breweries, they are looking to the future with many a fine ale being developed. Chat to the brewers while you sample all fresh craft beer from the tap. (17 varieties)

South Coast Brewing

South Coast Brewing are a small, independent brewery located in Willunga. Their beers (12 varieties) are brewed as a tribute to all the fabulous beaches that we love to enjoy all the way along Adelaide’s beautiful South Coast. Their aim? To simply make great beers.

Vale Ale (at Beresford Wines)

For the past 11 years, this place has been awarded the James Halliday 5 star rated winery which ranks it in the top 5% of all Australian Wineries. Smiling Samoyed Brewery

Smiling Samoyed Brewery is an award-winning brewery that was founded in 2012 by husband and wife team, Simon Dunstone and Kate Henning, after a home brewing hobby got out of control! Every single drop of Smiling Samoyed beer, in both kegs or in bottles, is made and packaged on site at Myponga. Visitors can see the brewery through a window from the dining room and can even see the brewers in action on the brew-house on occasion. They have a range of beers sure to please every palate.

Swell Brewing Company (Lunch Venue)

Coming to brewing from a wine background, the brewers at Swell wanted their beers to represent new layers of flavour and texture, and to be a first choice for matching with food. The magnificent Taphouse and sprawling lawn is an ideal venue for lunch and tastings and to meet Mikey, the brewery British Bulldog who’s almost more popular than the beers!

Prancing Pony

Prancing Pony’s production brewery is located at a mere 4 minutes’ drive from iconic Hahndorf. The brewery restaurant is part of the brewery and all brewing processes can be viewed while enjoying a beer and some delicious food, and has a large beer garden adjacent to the brewery. Prancing Pony are an ‘all grain and all hop’ brewery, which means they brew beers using malt, hops, yeast and water, only, and have many different varieties and seasonal brews.

Lot 100 Hay Valley

This 84 hectare property nestled in the Adelaide Hills has slowly and thoughtfully been transformed into the new production site of Mismatch Brewing and Adelaide Hills Distillery, coupled with the cellar door experience of The Hills Cider Company, Ashton Valley Fresh Juices and Vinteloper Wines.

Gulf Brewery

Many years ago a hobby in brewing started and grew and grew until in early 2005 the concept of Gulf Brewery was born. Whilst it will never be the largest brewery, that doesn’t stop it from making great beer. Located in the main street of Hahndorf, it boasts 11 different beers & ciders.

Uraidla Hotel

First licensed in 1867, the newly renovated Uraidla Hotel has been restored and designed to embody the traditional spirit on the Australian Hotel. Their passion for authenticity and variety in style and taste is reflected in the way they brew, with pure spring water sourced from their own onsite bore. resulting in handcrafted beers for all occasions. (15 core and seasonal brews)

Lobethal Bieraus

A multi-award winning microbrewery with hand crafted character beers and 12 different beer styles available on tap. The brew house and the core equipment are on full view to our restaurant and a visit to the brewery also includes an introduction to the considerable history of brewing in the local area (dating back to the 1850's).

Left Barrel

At Left Barrel, we’re farmhouse style specialising in sour & barrel aged beers from yesteryear. They are designed to make you think of beer in a different way. One might say, they’re a little left of centre. Passion for beer quality, variety and balance are their values. That’s why they feature seasonal, experimental and once-off brews for you to enjoy, along with their tried and tested core range of beers.

Pirate Life

From its humble beginnings, Pirate Life have recently opened its world class facility in the heart of Port Adelaide in March 2019, taking residence in the old Dalgety Woolstore built in 1938, which is now home to a 5,000 litre “brew kit” and a 20 metre long bar with 24 beers on tap! A must visit if you are a beer connoisseur!

Big Shed (Lunch Venue)

Big Shed Brewing grew from a shed in a rented property in the Barossa back in 2002. Since then it has grown into a tasting bar and kitchen in Royal Park, comprising of 6 taps and food that goes with the beer and you can eat with your hands. Many different core and seasonal varieties here!

Brewboys Brewery

Since its immaculate conception in 2008, Brewboys Brewery has been offering its humble creations as tribute to the original lager bean. The Tap Room is located within the brewery and all of the beverages are hand-crafted, even down to the labelling. They also make their own Basket Pressed Shiraz, Roussane Dry White & Whisky distilled from their own Ace of Spades Stout. At least a dozen different brews as well as alcoholic Ginger beer and Lemonade.

Little Bang Brewing Co.

Little Bang Brewing operate from a premises in the back streets of Stepney, where punters can enjoy a beer from the 21 taps of Little Bang and guest beers, wine or food from their very own kitchen. Named as South Australia's Favourite Craft Beer Venue - Beer Cartel 2019 Craft Beer Survey
Named on the Beer and Brewer list of Australia's Top 50 Brewpubs - 2019

Sparkke at the Whitmore

Sparkke are a for purpose alcohol company that produces award winning 100% natural brews and wine, from the former Whitmore Hotel in Whitmore Square. Here you can experience head brewer, Agi Gajic in action at the on-site brewery. Taste theirs, and an extensive range of other ales on tap at the stylish bars.


Adelaide Hills Distilleries

Ambleside Distillery

At the end of the botanical walk to the tall handmade cedar entry doors, the Tasting Bar that oozes character, with polished concrete floors, a nine metre long reclaimed brick wall, a window with a view of ther distillery room and large timber deck overlooking the picturesque Adelaide hills. Experience tasting flights of their 3 signature gins, served with ice and a bottle of tonic. Their knowledgeable bartenders will take you through the unique tasting notes for each gin with accompanying garnishes for an extra tasting sensation.

78° Gin Adelaide Hills Distillery (at Lot 100)

The home of 78˚ Gin, The Adelaide Hills Distillery range continues to grow, driven by quality, Australian ingredients, and always with an Australian twist. The Gunnery Australian Spiced is a spiced white rum spirit that's not driven by vanilla and sweetness, eschewing artificial flavours and aromatics in favour of natural ingredients, and The Bitter Orange, an orange style aperitif reminiscent of the orange bitters of Italy, marrying traditional European bittering herbs with predominantly Australian Ingredients at its core. 78˚ Gin received a Gold Medal, The Bitter Orange received a Silver Medal and The Gunnery received a Bronze Medal at The 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
